God... dammit!
I'm sick of shows I like getting canceled.

I was really, REALLY starting to love My Own Worst Enemy. Now it's been axed.

Valentine got axed, too.

I guess they'll join Dresden Files, Drive, Carpoolers and Journeyman in the "Lets get rid of the shows Steve enjoys" category. Sigh.

To be honest? I wish it was Heroes which got canceled instead. That show doesn't deserve to be around. Yet... it stays.

Bullshit.

What. The fuck.

I agree on the Heroes front.

MAD.

I don't hate Heroes or anything, but right now I wouldn't cry if it was canned. I don't know how they will save the mess they've created. My Own worst Enemy is some of the freshest TV I've seen in a while.

The future is on the internets, I just wish more people would get on board with this. I knew from the beginning that Firefly would fail for a reason, mostly because of how the networks treat these kinds of shows, with the occasional exception of certain channels that you have to pay X amount of money for per month. Really, it was a miracle that B5 made it to its 5th and final season.

Well, producers, writers, and directors, to be more precise. I'm sure th expenses could be payed for at least partially through advertisers.

Well, the way people are watching programs is changing the face of TV, too.

Many people (like myself) dl them... so, sadly, this makes for less fantasy stuff as product placement is needed.

But, I never watch TV on TV. Mainly because I need to wear headphones when I watch because everyone is usually in bed, and so it's easier on my comp here.

But yeah, more on your point, I agree.

This is true, but to be honest I think I liked the show's version of Dresden better (and I really don't have very much time to read novels right now, sadly :( ).

I watched the first few eps of Heroes but never got into it. I never watched the other shows. I won't buy a tv so I don't watch a lot of it. Was Dresden Files any good? I may be tempted to buy the dvds (if they are out) if it's good.

Dresden Files is excellent. Witty, kinda dark and funny. It's like a lighter Hellblazer. :)

Yeah, MAD TV is pretty hit and miss with me-- BUT-- it's WAY WAY WAY better than SNL.

I mean, what will SNL do now that Palin is out of the picture? I bet they all voted for McCain! LOL

And Amy Poller just had her baby & won't be back for a while. SNL just needs to be taken out back & shot like the lame horse it is.

Hmmm... Last I heard, they weren't bringing back the show. Unless there has been some new info?

Though someone was telling me yesterday that Kevin McKidd is now on Grey's Anatomy, and since he was the star of Journeyman, that would mean Journeyman is effectively dead for good.

The thing is, I think a lot of people of our generation and the one after us just aren't watching television that much anymore. i mean maybe in the flyover states where there's fuck all to do, but in the real epicenters of culture, people are turning the idiot box off.

I literally have not turned my television on in weeks.

Yeah, I just dl the shows I like to watch... which when spread out over the year, aren't that many.

For me, though, the few TV shows I do like are a nice break from all the writing and reading I do.

agreed.
like LOST, Heros has gotten too complex for the non-dedicated viewer.
if i was going to pick it up, i would need that stupid pop up video subtitles they did last year for Lost......too much.
sad to hear Worst Enemy is going.
also liked ....was it called Journey Man....?
a Quantum Leap update.
oh well.
ill have to find something else to do.

oh. i should have read your post better.
yup. journeyman.
i have noticed that they now call Life On Mars..Life.
and they only played the bowie song as the theme song once....
copyrights?
i wonder if it will fall too.
it seems like it is common belief that people want reaaaaaly intricate story lines now.....90210 aside.
that and more blood.
House now has some surgery moments that gross me out.
