On Heroes

Okay, those few of you who are still watching Heroes, what did you think of the last episode?

My non-spoilery thoughts are as follows:

It wasn't as bad as a few people I know said it was; however... I really don't think the ep was ever planned from the beginning. It smacks of "thrown-togetherness" and shoe-horning.

And does EVERYTHING have to be interconnected in such a way that even Days of Our Lives fans would turn their collective noses up at it in shock and dismay? I mean, come ON.

I really liked first season. Second had its problems, but I was okay with it overall, kinda. Third season is ruining the show completely for me. The original conceit which I accepted (cuz it was shoved down our throats) has been greatly trampled and, well, fucked.

Your thoughts?

Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway: Expect spoilers in the comments.

Oh, and oh yeah-- Heroes

Good Heroes news, I think:
Alexander and Loeb are fired from Heroes

I hate saying that, though, as I think Jeph Loeb is a really cool guy. But, man, his writing has always been hit and miss and lately it just... well, it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm curious to see if Heroes improves with those two guys gone.

Still, I wish them the best of fortune in their future endeavors.

Heroes

So I got a chance to catch the latest episode Heroes. Honestly? I was really enjoying the season until it started obviously caving to the complaints of viewers...

Thoughts on Heroes...

I guess I'm the only one who is really liking the current season of Heroes. Nothing is perfect, but I feel it improves on the first season in many ways. Look, you can't recapture the coolness of a hot new show-- not when it's the -same- show in the following seasons. I think Kring's apology was lame and that people are a complainy lot, especially the non-undead kind. Does a demi-lich complain? Hells no. Suck it up.

But seriously, I didn't feel the apology was needed. I suppose season 2 was moving kinda slow, but I was enjoying that build-up. Different strokes for different folks and all that noise.

Anyways, I've heard people freaking out about last night's ep. I watched it this morning before the kids got up, so here's what I think...

Heroes

Yay! Heroes is back. And this last episode KICKED. MAJOR. ASS.

And next week we get to see 5 years in the future? I love episodes like that. Hawt.

Heroes

I'm just taking a quick break to post this.

Heroes = Awesome.

Now, back to writing stuff.
And then, before bed, it's crushing Milan... Those back-stabbers! We had an alliance! Bastards!
I will exterminate them and send them in little bits to the Mongols as a warning.

Heroes!

Three hours to Heroes. The last instalment for awhile (a month and a half), I hear.
(although, I was just told that there's one more ep after this one... THEN they'll be on hold)

It's pretty cool to be THIS excited over a show. BSG came close, but if I missed an ep, I would be okay with seeing a re-run.

I cannot fathom the despair of missing Heroes, re-airing or not!

Heroes and Stuff

Heroes was awesome!
Yeah. What a surprise.

So, MediaGauntlet has been re-worked, and it's worth checking out. My old Bitpulp stuff has been broken up and sprinkled around as reviews and articles. (I'm going to write a new Bitpulp column focusing only on comics). Today I added the review I did a few hours ago on Grunts #1. It couldn't go up on SBC for a couple reasons, one of which that the comic is a few months old. My editor told me to go ahead and post it elsewhere, so here it is: Grunts #1 Review

Man, and it's a scathing review, too. It would really help to  balance out my glowing ravings over at Silver Bullet Comics. Ha! Oh, well, I'm not complaining. Grunts is just BAD. Read my review. Know that radioactive waste is better in your hands than an issue of that cold, putrid turd they dare call a comic book. Radioactive waste also reads better and has much more interesting writing involved. Also, if you bathe in radioactive waste and set yourself on fire, it will feel better than the art looks in Grunts. Please, know what's best for humanity and yourself. Heed my dire warning: Do not buy or read Grunts.
Even if you wonder what it's about. Seriously. The idea of jumping off a building and landing face first might put some curious thoughts into your mind, but it's doubtful if you're going to try it. Now, have you survive and recover, only to jam a baseball bat straight up your ass sideways. That's Grunts.
Got it?
Good.

A better comic would be Hellblazer. Lately, it's been kinda iffy... It's better than Grunts by far, anyway. Of course, I was hoping for some better art in the last few issues. Ah, well, can't win 'em all. It was a decent read. Plus, it's got John Constantine. He's always a treat. Here's my review of Hellblazer #226.

Oh, and here's a video of the Robocop 2 failures. Enjoy! :D

Heroes!

Good show tonight. Seems like a set-up for a "big reveal' episode. While there wasn't much action, it did provide some insights and such, and thus I feel it was strong on those merits alone.
